The First Nations Center held another successful Johnson Open Golf Tournament at Nemadji Golf Course in Superior. We had approximately 70 participants and raised close to $3,000 for the American Indian Scholarship Fund.

This year's Native American Scholarship recipient is Alex Gokee from Red Cliff, WI. Alex, a senior at UW-Superior and Red Cliff Band member, has been very active in campus life. He has been active in athletics, intramurals, officiating, and the UWS Barbeque club and held a leadership position in the Circle of Native Nations student organization. In October 2013, Alex will attend the National Indian Education Association's annual conference co-presenting with Gary Johnson on a Native model for Health and Wellness.

We would like to thank all of our donors especially McGladrey and Enbridge for their continued support.
