Welcome Students!
We are excited that you have chosen UW-Superior for your higher education. We have a number of programs and services to assist you in your transition to campus. One such program is SOAR. All freshmen and transfer students coming in with 21 credits or under are required to attend SOAR.
SOAR (Summer Orientation Advisement and Registration) is your introduction to the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Each SOAR session is 1 1/2 days. During SOAR you will have a chance to connect with current students, staff and faculty as you learn about UW-Superior and its services. In addition, you will plan out and register for your fall semester courses. As a SOAR student participant you will not only take part in the scheduled sessions, but you will have the opportunity to stay in the residence halls, and take part in some exciting evening activities as part of your experience. Parents and family wishing to stay in the residence halls are able to reserve Guest Housing through the Residence Life office at 715-394-8438 for a minimal fee.
Students, even if you plan on commuting during the semester, we highly encourage you to stay with us during SOAR. There are 4 SOAR dates for you to choose from. We encourage you to make your reservation early as slots fill up quickly. Reservations are on a first come first serve basis.
International Students
You will be receiving information regarding orientation programming from the International Programs Office and First Year Experience. For questions regarding international student orientation programming, please contact Carol Knoble at cknoble@uwsuper.edu.
