Mission

UW-Superior's Gender Equity Programs work to create a safe environment within the campus community in which the following occurs:

  • Exploration of diverse gender roles
  • Education about gender and sexuality
  • Advocacy of equity for people of varying ages, economic statuses, cultural backgrounds, races, physical abilities, genders, and sexual identities.

The program staff collaborates with many departments and student organizations to provide programs and resources that empower students of all genders and sexual identities to have a successful college experience.

Vision

Gender Equity Programs strive to assist individuals of all genders and sexual identities to work, socialize, and live together by:

  • providing gender and sexuality programs which educate campus on gender and sexuality equity issues;
  • providing resources to the UW-Superior community;
  • creating a welcoming events and spaces for all genders and sexualities to connect;
  • promoting an environment that values diversity and mutuality; and
  • encouraging students, faculty/staff, and community to address issues of gender and sexuality

Walk a Mile In Her Shoes
Rescheduled

Spring Semester 2012 we'll be "steppin' out" in our best shoes in an effort to raise money for the White Ribbon Campaign, an organization that aims to stop violence against women.   Teams and individuals are welcome!  More information to come.
