Walk a Mile In Her Shoes

Each year we "step out" in our best shoes in an effort to raise money for the White Ribbon Campaign, an organization that aims to stop violence against women.

"Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" is one of many of the same types of walks/races and is done all over the world.. "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" is a mile walk where each participant raises pledges and then walks a mile in "Her" shoes, meaning, high heels. The walk is not a race, so it can be done at your own pace. There will also be food, live music, vendors, and prizes for the participants who receive the most pledges!

There will be pre-registration for the walk available starting in November, Registration at the door will also be available, but there may be a limited number of participant t-shirts:

  • $20 Walkers in Heels
  • $25 Walkers not in Heels

What you receive as a participant:

  1. You will be entered into an automatic drawing for a few wonderful prizes.
  2. You will receive a "I walked a mile in her shoes" T-shirt.
  3. Finally, and most importantly, you'll have memories to last a lifetime!

Volunteers:

20 dedicated people are needed to volunteer for setting up, working tables, overseeing the event, and tearing down.  If this sounds like something you would like to do please email Tim Sislo at tsislo1@uwsuper.edu!  Each volunteer will receive a free hooded sweatshirt!  Spaces will go quickly, email to sign up for your place helping make a difference in our community and our world!
