POSITION:

*Extended* Assistant Professor (Teacher Education/Educational Administration), Educational Leadership

POSITION:

The Educational Leadership Department at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, Wisconsin's Public Liberal Arts College, invites applications for the Tenure-Track position of Assistant Professor of Teacher Education/Educational Administration available in August 2013.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Teaching 9 graduate credits in the Educational Administration or Teacher Education program
  • Teaching in an online format Supervising field experience
  • Advising graduate students
  • Supervising research
  • Collaborating with local educational institutions and programs
  • Engaging in scholarly activity
  • Engaging in departmental, university, and community service
  • Assist with expanding program capacity in high demand subjects
  • Teaching off campus

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Earned doctorate in an Educational Administration or related field
  • 5 years administrative experience in PK-12 settings
  • Background and/or experience working with diverse populations
  • Evidence research activities including scholarly publications
  • Expertise in at least two of the following areas: quantitative research, leadership, instructional/curricular supervision, Special Education, school administration, school finance, school law

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Experience with online teaching
  • Post-secondary level teaching experience
  • Experience with program development
  • Willingness to learn instructional technologies
  • Active participation and leadership in state and national professional organizations
  • Knowledge of Wisconsin Teacher and administrative standards
  • Strong record or commitment to university teaching
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills 
The successful candidate will be dynamic, energetic, creative and engaging. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the public liberal arts mission and to quality teaching and learning methods. Willingness and interest in utilizing technology in the classroom strongly preferred. The successful candidate must be committed to the highest ethical standards and demonstrate effective leadership and teamwork skills. Candidates that incorporate issues of inclusive excellence and diversity within their curriculum are especially encouraged to apply.

SALARY:

UW-Superior offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance coverage for domestic partners and their eligible dependents.
