Assistant Professor (Tenure Track), Accounting

POSITION:

Assistant Professor. There are currently two open positions. These are academic year, faculty, tenure track positions.

DUTIES:

Teach undergraduate courses in Accounting and Business courses appropriate to the individual's degree as assigned by the Department Chair.Advise students.Maintain appropriate blend of quality teaching, service, and scholarly activity.Show evidence of professional growth through high-level professional activities.Provide professionally related services and activities to the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ph.D. in Accounting or an appropriate equivalent terminal degree with a CPA is preferred. An ABD in the areas of interest cited above will be considered with an earned doctorate required by August 31, 2012 for reappointment to Spring Semester, 2013. An MBA or relevant Masters Degree with a CPA and management experience in a relevant industry or government agency will be considered.University level teaching experience preferred.Activity in relevant professional societies and public outreach is preferred.

The successful candidate will be dynamic, energetic, creative, and engaging. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the public liberal arts mission and to quality teaching and learning methods.Willingness and interest in utilizing technology in the classroom and on-line preferred. The successful candidate must be committed to the highest ethical standards and demonstrate effective leadership and teamwork skills.Candidates that incorporate issues of inclusive excellence and diversity within their curriculum are especially encouraged to apply.

SALARY:

Salary (negotiable). UWS offers a generous benefits package including health insurance coverage for domestic partners and their eligible dependents.
