Dean of Faculties
|The University of Wisconsin-Superior's Dean of Faculties and Graduate Studies provides leadership for seven graduate and twenty undergraduate majors across the institution's twelve academic departments. We seek an individual who is committed to a student-centered public liberal arts mission and passionate about the development, promotion, and continuous improvement of all graduate and undergraduate academic programs. To this end, the Dean works to procure and allocate resources to all academic programs based on student demand and the goals of the campus Strategic Plan and Academic Plan. The Dean works with the Provost and Department Chairs to facilitate fairness and equity in the recruitment, evaluation, and advancement of faculty and academic administrators, and works with departments and governance groups to develop and/or improve academic personnel policies and other related operating procedures. The Dean promotes and supports professional development opportunities for faculty and teaching academic staff and works to develop and preserve a university environment in which faculty, staff, and students feel inspired and enabled to reach their full potential. The Dean demonstrates a commitment to academic freedom, shared governance, excellence, and the common good through innovative practice and proven leadership. |
