POSITION : | This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position. An LTE position may not exceed 1,043 work hours in a 12 month period. Wisconsin residency is required. |

POSITION SUMMARY : | This position reports directly to the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor and will perform a variety of preventative maintenance and repairs to mechanical systems in campus facilities including Wessman Ice Arena refrigeration equipment and the Health and Wellness Center swimming pool.This position will work under general supervision. |
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES : | Basic knowledge of air handling equipment and pneumatic controls. Basic knowledge of arena ice making equipment and procedures (refrigeration plant).Knowledge of the operation of pool filtration equipment. Knowledge of State and local health regulations applicable to swimming pool operation. Must possess a valid Driver's License upon appointment. Ability to communicate with a hand held radio and basic knowledge of FCC regulations on radio procedures. Physical ability to perform manual labor, to climb, bend, crawl and work in confined spaces, etc., climb ladders, work on catwalks. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Responsible and initiative to work productively for sustained period without supervision. Ability to lift a variety of materials up to 50 pounds. Ability to obtain certified pool operator certification. Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Job Function Assessment and Criminal Background Check. This position requires working outdoors, with exposure to all types of weather conditions. This position may expose worker to sounds and noise that are distracting and uncomfortable. This position will wear special work clothing and common protective safety attire or equipment as directed by the Supervisor. |
