On June 23, 2009, Governor Doyle issued Executive Order 285 which requires all state employees to take eight days or 64 hours of unpaid leave (furlough time off) per year in each of the next two fiscal years (or a proportional amount for part-time employees or employees on 9-month academic year appointments) which equates to a 3.065% annual pay reduction for each year of the biennium.

UW System will use a mix of four "fixed" and four "floating" furlough days in each year of the biennium to comply with the eight-day requirement.

The "fixed" furlough days at UW-Superior have been established as:

2009-10 (FY10)
2010-11 (FY11)
