Diana Chi, Class of 1974 and 1976 loves UW-Superior so much she is part of two graduating classes.

This alumna took the tools she learned here on campus and brought those with her to the bright lights of L.A.

Working in one job for nearly three decades is getting rare, doing so in a hectic deadline-driven TV newsroom is even more unique. Chi is a writer/producer with the station.

Diana Chi will be celebrating 28 years of work at KTLA-TV in Los Angeles in August. She has earned a number of industry awards for her news writing including the Mark Twain Award from the Associated Press, Emmy Awards from the Academy of Television of Arts and Sciences, and Golden Mikes from the Radio Television News Association of Southern California.

She graduated with a 4.0 GPA and graduated with honors. In 1975, while at UW-Superior she earned the Outstanding Woman Student Award and is a former member of American Women in Radio and Television.

Here she is pictured with her Emmy Award for the Newtown Connecticut Shooting coverage. She has fond memories of her time on campus and even made a special visit here last summer. Her mother traveled from Hong Kong to Superior in order to celebrate her graduation.
