News and Events Details
Monday the Northland took time to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a march and a rally at the DECC.
Nearly 20 UW-Superior students, faculty, staff and alumni attended the event in record numbers to support his mission despite the cold. Alumnus Carl Crawford was one of the emcees of the event. This was the 14th year that UW-Superior has participated in the program.
Many others also volunteered in their own communities for part of the day as well.
Twenty-One UW-Superior students and staff volunteered for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service in Superior with the Superior Childhood Literacy Alliance. Each read for 30 minutes about Dr. King at a local elementary school or preschool and gave the classroom two Dr. King books as a thank you. They were so thankful for our volunteers and UW-Superior's commitment to serving our community.
