News and Events Details
Luke Hafdahl, Class of '06, accepted a position as chief resident at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. As chief resident, Hafdahl will be teaching residents and medical students how to practice evidence-based medicine, care for patients, and critically appraise medical literature as well as performing administrative duties and attending patients himself.
Hafdahl attributes his current position to strong mentoring relationships developed at UW-Superior which guided him to a degree in chemistry, his first research experience, and strong letters of recommendation. Through this experience, he hopes to learn more about teaching residents and medical students and to become a better physician. The Virginia, Minnesota native was recently inducted into the UW-Superior Chemistry and Physics Hall of Fame. Story by student writer Elizabeth Reichert.
