Dr. Anne Lif Lund Jacobsen, a guest of the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve, will be presenting a seminar on an interdisciplinary study of 19th-20th century Australian fisheries management.
A graduate of the University of Southern Denmark's Center for Maritime and Regional Studies, she completed her Ph.D. at the University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australia. Dr. Jacobsen's resume includes participation in the global Census of Marine Life and the Danish Galathea 3 Expedition, a national research exhibition circumnavigating the world.
She currently holds a post-doctorate degree from the Department of Science Studies, University of Aarhus, Denmark where she studies seismological research in Greenland during the Cold War. While on a research trip to several national historical archives, she will be visiting the Lake Superior NERR to learn about the Reserve's research, education, outreach and stewardship programs.
