The International Peace Studies Association will be hosting an Oxfam Hunger Banquet to benefit Oxfam America and learn about inequality and social justice in our world.
At an Oxfam Hunger Banquet, guests draw tickets at random that assign them to a high-, middle-, or low-income tier, based on the latest statistics about the number of people living in poverty. Each income level receives a corresponding meal-filling and nutritious or sparse and simple. When the meal is done, guests are invited to share their thoughts and take action.
Tickets can be purchased in the Yellowjacket Union or by contacting Yer Vang at email@example.com.
The tickets cost $3 and all proceeds to will go directly to Oxfam America to assist with their work ending poverty.
Oxfam America is an international relief and development organization that creates lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and injustice. Oxfam America is part of Oxfam, a confederation of 17 Oxfams working in more than 90 countries. Together with individuals and local groups in these countries, Oxfam America saves lives, helps people overcome poverty, and fights for social justice.
