The University of Wisconsin-Superior presented leadership and academic awards to individual students during its annual Superior Achievements award ceremony held May 4.
The Chancellor's Leadership Award was presented to Saroj Dhital of Kathmandu, Nepal. This award is presented to a graduating senior who has had an on-going impact on the UW-Superior campus community. Dhital also was recognized as the Spring 2011 Student Commencement Speaker.
Lalese Dawano of Minneapolis and Ben Mooney of Spooner, Wis., received the Inspiring Leader Awards. This award is presented to students who have shown significant positive development of their leadership abilities over the academic year.
UW-Superior also honored 505 Students of Excellence. Students of Excellence have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.40 or above and a minimum of 67 undergraduate credits, including transfer credits, with a minimum of 12 credits earned at UW-Superior.
In addition, Student-Athlete Graduation Cords were presented to 37 student-athletes who have exhausted their NCAA athletic eligibility. The cords signify their commitment to athletic and scholastic excellence.
