The University of Wisconsin-Superior has named Elizabeth Twining Blue to serve as the Interim Dean of Faculties effective July 1, 2012. Her appointment is expected to be for one year, as the search for a Dean of Faculties begins this fall.  

"Liz is very well respected among her faculty colleagues as well as members of administration," said Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Faith Hensrud. "I am very pleased that she is willing to step into this critical role."  

Twining Blue has been a part of the UW-Superior community since 1989, rising through the ranks to full professor in July 2002. She has served in a variety of roles on campus through the years, including chair of the Department of Human Behavior, Justice and Diversity for nine years, and as Social Work Program Coordinator for 19 of 23 years. She is also a member of the Assessment Academy Team and the strategic planning team.

Twining Blue holds a bachelor of science degree in English and education from Macalester College and a master of social work degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
