Jeanne Thompson is joining the University of Wisconsin-Superior as vice chancellor for university advancement. 

Thompson comes to UW-Superior after spending nearly 20 years at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. For the past 12 years she served as executive director of development, leading annual and major giving efforts as well as managing two capital campaigns. 

"We are pleased to welcome Jeanne to the UW-Superior campus community," said Chancellor Renée Wachter. "Her expertise and energy will help us in our ongoing efforts to better serve our students, our alumni and friends, and our community."

Thompson is a native of Superior and long-time resident of South Superior. She holds both a bachelor of arts degree in behavioral arts and science and a master of arts degree in management from the College of St. Scholastica. 

As vice chancellor for university advancement, Thompson will report directly to the chancellor and serve as the institutional officer providing leadership, development and management of a comprehensive advancement program. She also will serve as president and chief executive officer of the University of Wisconsin-Superior Foundation Inc.
