"The University of Wisconsin-Superior fosters intellectual growth and career preparation within a liberal arts tradition that emphasizes individual attention and embodies respect for diverse cultures and multiple voices." UW-Superior Mission Statement
Toward that end, the Office of International Programs has hosted over 500 international students from more than 60 countries in the last decade. International students say they choose UW-Superior because of...
-the strong academic programs. UW-Superior offers more than 40 undergraduate majors and concentrations that emphasize a challenging, well-rounded education and solid professional training. The university is nationally recognized as a College of Distinction and a member of the University of Wisconsin System, which is one of the largest and strongest public university systems in the United States.
-the personal attention and instruction. With an average class size of 17, students get a high level of interaction and support from faculty and staff.
-the quality learning environment. UW-Superior's campus is set in a residential neighborhood that is minutes away from the amenities of a dynamic medium-sized city and the beauty of Lake Superior, the largest lake in the world.
-the affordability and value. More than 90% of UW-Superior international students receive significant financial assistance ($5,600 to $7,500) through the Non-resident Tuition Waiver (NTW) Program in the 2013-2014 academic year.
-the international diversity and student support. The Office of International Programs takes pride in offering a warm welcome and helpful services to international students from the moment they arrive at the airport. Currently, more than 140 international students from nearly 40 countries attend UW-Superior.
-the excellent career opportunities. A UW-Superior education prepares international students for graduate school studies and successful careers. In a recent study, more than 97% of recent UW-Superior graduates were either employed or enrolled graduate school twelve months after earning their UW-Superior degree.
International students have a long history of high academic achievement, leadership and involvement on campus, athletic excellence, and success in the job market. We encourage international students from around the world to apply to become part of that history.
