On April 13, 2010, approximately 20 American Indian middle school students from Duluth, Minnesota will spend the morning with UW-Superior American Indian students.
Some of the morning activities will include a meet and greet session where our college students will discuss the importance of receiving a higher education and the benefits of attending a school like UW-Superior. Also, the students will tour the American Indian Art Scholarship Exhibit in the Kruk Gallery. After that they will have some free time to "play" in the Health & Wellness Center and the day will end with them having lunch in the Yellowjacket Union.
This is an annual recruitment event that has been occurring for the past 4 years with the Duluth Public School's American Indian programs. The Office of Multicultural Affairs believes that it's never too early to talk to students about higher education.
