The Closing Artists Reception for the 12th Annual American Indian Art Scholarship Exhibit will start at 6 p.m. in the Kruk Gallery which is located in the Holden Fine and Applied Arts Center on the University of Wisconsin-Superior campus.

This event is free and open to the public.

The program will include recognition of all the exhibiting high school student artist exhibitors and professional artists.  We will give recognition to all exhibiting artists.  We will present honorable mentions and placement awards to the high school student winners and a $1000 scholarship to the student who places first.

Featured artist Gordon van Wert will present a "Best of Show" award to a high school student exhibitor from his perspective and address the crowd.  A traditional drum group will perform an honor song for all the exhibiting artists and a traveling song.

There will be free hors'deovres and beverages before the reception and people are free to visit the professional artists who will have booths set up at the Art Market in the lobby outside of the Kruk before and after the artists' reception.

The reception is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Center for First Nations Studies.  If you have questions please contact the Exhibit Coordinator Gary Johnson at 715-394-8132.
