The American Indian Art Scholarship Exhibit concludes Wednesday, April 27, in Kruk Gallery in the Holden Fine Arts Center at UW-Superior.
April 27 events associated with this show include: an art workshop with Featured Artist Gordon van Wert at 3 p.m. in the Visual Arts Drawing Room, Art Market with the professional artists starting at 3 p.m. in the lobby outside of the Kruk Gallery and the Closing Artist Reception starting at 6 p.m. in Kruk Gallery.
This year's exhibit features the works of American Indian high school students from various high schools throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota and 13 professional American Indian artists. The high school artwork will be judged by a panel of the exhibiting professional artists, and Gordon van Wert (2011 Featured Artist) will present a "Best of Show" award.
Professional artists include: 2011 Featured Artist Gordon van Wert, Karen Savage-Blue, Gordon Coons, Jes Durfee, Carl Gawboy, Jerry Kirk, Annette Lee, Douglas K. Limon, Marcie McIntire, Steve Premo, Eve Schultz, Carol Ann Smith and William Wilson.
Everyone is invited to attend this incredible exhibit of American Indian art. Mediums include acrylics, oils, watercolor, sculpture, beadwork, photography, and etc.
