On behalf of the University of Wisconsin-Superior and the Duluth/Superior Public Schools, we want to say "Thank You" to all of the parents that attended the "Making the University Accessible" kickoff event held at UW-Superior on December 3rd. If you missed the first event you can still experience this great collaboration between UW-Superior, Twin Ports public school personnel, and you the parents.
Our next event (Event Flyer) will be held the evening of April 23rd, 2013.Our upcoming event will be divided into two sections:
New Parents
• Seeing college as affordable (Financial Aid Information)
• College Requirement (What is needed to get in?)
• Applying for college (What is the process?)
Returning Parents
• Preparing your student for college (What can parents do now?)
• Meeting college staff and students (How can we keep connected?)
• Your child's journey toward college (What opportunities are available?)
Please put April 23rd on your calendar. Again, UW-Superior will open its doors, staff, and facilities to you and your children. We will provide food, group activities for your middle schoolers, and childcare for your younger children, all free of charge.
College really is accessible to you and your children. We want you to see this in your family's future. Come and hang out with us!
A drawing will be held for the middle school parents and their families during the event. A trip to Las Vegas is the top prize! Other prizes to be announced and given out at the event.
A Big thank you to all the businesses that have donated all the great prizes for your event!
