Ten UW-Superior students will attend the 2011 American Multicultural Student Leadership Conference (AMSLC) on April 1-3 at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Four students will present their creative writing, visual artwork and poster presentation at this 27th annual UW System conference.
AMSLC is an opportunity for an estimated 200 to 300 students of color at all UW campuses to come together to present their research, creative writing, and visual art - all dealing with multicultural/diverse issues. It also enables students to attend leadership workshops and to hear national and regional multicultural keynote inspirational speakers and cultural entertainers.
The conference is held at a different UW campus each year. UW-Superior hosted the conference in 1999, when more than 400 students of color were in attendance.
The Office of Multicultural Affairs and the World Student Association are co-sponsoring the student's attendance at this state-wide leadership conference. Questions should be directed to Ivy Vainio at 715-394-8415.
