UW-Superior Students To Present at State-Wide Leadership Conference

Seventeen students will attend UW-System's American Multicultural Student Leadership Conference at UW-Green Bay during April 4 and 5.

Seventeen UW-Superior students will be attending the University of Wisconsin System's Annual American Multicultural Student Leadership Conference (AMSLC) at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay campus this April 4 and 5th. The conference theme is 360° of Diversity: EMPOWERED BY the Past, Inspiring the PRESENT and Becoming Future LEADERS.

AMSLC's Mission: This annual conference provides an opportunity for students of color and economically-disadvantaged students from all over the University of Wisconsin campuses to come together and engage in lively discussions, hear inspiring speakers, develop networks, and celebrate their achievements in order to foster leadership and excellence.

Congratulations to the following UW-Superior students who will be presenting their research and creative writing pieces at the conference:

* Augustin Tegaboue Tchouassi, Maryelle Nyeck, Geoffrey Kumah, Arne Nyeck, and Racquel Kaizer - "Leadership in Africa: From Pre-colonial Times to Present Day.

* Kang Her - Students of Color at UW-Superior: Impact of Peer Mentoring Program on Retention.

* Sumaiya Gul and Ahsan Hameed - Assumptions VS. Reality: the Truth about Stereotypes.

* Simona P. Simkins - Superior Interaction: Applied Theatre for Diversity Education at an Institution of Higher Education.

* Naomi F. Geshick - This Class, This Time, This Place.

* T.K. Vang and Ineui Lee - LGBTQ Issues and Bullying.
