Office of Multicultural Affairs

College Student for a Day

This recruitment program was developed in 1999 to allow high school students of color (American Indian, African American, Asian American and Hispanic/Latino American) from Superior Senior High School, Duluth Public Schools and surrounding high schools to experience college life for one day.
                     CSFAD Participants

High school students get matched up for the day with a University of Wisconsin-Superior student who has the same career goal.

During the day the students will attend University classes, visit departments of academic interest, take a personalized tour of the campus showing and introducing the high school students to student oriented offices and staff members, Admissions presentation about the University requirements, and student have a pre-paid lunch in the Yellowjacket Union Café.

Research has shown that early connections to higher education will increase the success of those students in higher education.

Office of Multicultural Affairs has sponsored this recruitment program since 1999.
