Hometown: Naperville, IL

Department or Office: Campus Recreation

What life experiences led you to your current career?: I was working for the Chicago White Sox when I was asked to guide a group of college students for a week-long backpacking and rock climbing trip in Kentucky. The trip was a great time, so much so that I decided to leave the sports industry and focus my attention on guiding in the outdoor adventure setting. Working for a professional sports team was incredible, but nothing could compete with rappelling off a 300 ft cliff into nothing, or standing at 14,000+ ft gazing out across the world. From there, I have had the opportunity to guide trips in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Colorado, Tennessee, Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, Maryland, Alabama, Ohio, and Illinois. Activities such as whitewater rafting, backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, and canoeing & kayaking.

Programs/services that you coordinate/provide: Superior Adventures, Climbing Wall, Superior Challenge Ropes Course, Aquatics, and HPP Courses (Paddling & Rock Climbing)

In one sentence what is your advice for students to be successful?: Follow your heart and passion; measure your success not by the fame or money you achieve, but the lives you change.

What is your favorite book?: Tuesdays with Morrie

What is your favorite hobby or activity outside of work?: Rock climbing and biking.

One fun fact about you: I bake a lot of pies and make them all from scratch every time. It helps keep the house warm during the winter!
