Renee Wachter

Hometown: Family roots in Ohio, but born in Brunswick, Maine - my dad was an engineer in the Air Force, so we moved around a great deal.

Department or Office: Chancellor's Office

Where did you attend college, grad school, doctoral school?: Undergraduate - University of Kansas; Doctoral - Indiana University

Programs/services that you coordinate/provide: The University of Wisconsin - Superior

In one sentence what is your advice for students to be successful?: Be confident, get involved, and take chances - your worst fears rarely actually materialize!

What is your favorite book?: I can only choose one?? I love to read a wide variety of books - I am addicted to the genres of short stories and historical fiction (e.g., Bring up the Bones) although I really liked Team of Rivals.

One fun fact about you: I like to bake bread - something about throwing dough around is very therapeutic. In another life, I would go to pastry school.

List what classes you teach: Sculpture, Metalworking, 3-Dimensional Design

In one sentence what is your advice for students to be successful?: Love something recklessly.

What is your favorite book?: A House for Mr. Biswas, by V.S. Naipaul.

One fun fact about you: I am neither fun nor funny.
