Cherie Sawinski has been passionate about intercultural education since the age of ten when she was given a copy of Four Ways of Being Human by a Peace Corps volunteer!  Although she found the book itself a bit dry, the concept of a multitude of ways of expressing humanity became a focus for her life.

She serves as a working director in the Office of International Programs where she also manages study away programs including the National Student Exchange and all campus programs abroad.  For 13 years she also served as International Student Advisor to the young people from many corners of the world who contribute to the rich cultural tapestry that is a proud hallmark of the UW-Superior campus.

Cherie's background includes volunteer work in several international settings including Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., the Boy Scouts of America, AFS Intercultural Programs, and Duluth Sister Cities International.
