Eight paddlers started out their evening in Billings Park, learning some techniques and adjusting their gear in the parking lot. Once we were ready, we headed out to get a closer look at the railroad bridge.

We saw plenty of fishermen, and had to keep an eye out for their lines. We then "podded up" to get through the barge and larger watercraft channels. We crossed the channel, and took a peek at the Minnesota shoreline. We then returned to the Wisconsin shoreline, and explored parts of Billings Park from the water. The yellow irises were in bloom, and smelling wonderful. We paddled into an inlet and saw a turtle scramble off the shoreline. Two of our paddlers played a game of limbo with the small bridge in the park and then we turned around to head back to the parking lot.

We then pulled our boats back up to the landing, where Shaun helped me put the boats back on the trailer as the night came to a close. It was a pleasure to paddle with all of you! Hope to see more of you next time.   -Julia
