Do you want to learn the basics of Sea Kayaking but don't want to do it Lake
Superior? Well here is your opportunity to learn about sea kayaking in the comfort of our own indoor pool in the MWC.
This event is for anyone who wants to learn about sea kayaking and will give you an opportunity to rent our sea kayaks in the future. We will start at the very beginning so you don't need to have any experience or knowledge. You will learn kayak nomenclature, how to correctly enter and exit a kayak, how to wet exit when you capsize, and some basic paddle strokes. If times permits we will even go over some basic rescue skills.
This course is also offered on Monday, February 11 from 6:00 - 9:00pm. If you would like to learn to do an eskimo roll, please attend one of the two intro courses first. The eskimo rolling and rescue clinics are offered on February 18th and 25th from 7:00 - 9:00pm.
This course costs $10 for all participants and space is very limited so make sure you get into the MWC welcome desk to reserve your spot today!
