As students, staff, and faculty at UW-Superior spring into what has already turned out to be a whirlwind of a semester, some of us already need a break. With the first few weeks of school complete, homework assigned, and somewhat new campus to navigate, a fall paddle seemed passed due.

On Sunday, September 25th, 2011, SOAP guides Krystal Carlson and Lael Gombar led a group of students and community members on kayaking trip on one of the most beautiful fall days Superior has seen so far this autumn. This particular paddle took place on the Nemadji River for a Family Paddle event. 

It was a great way to get away for a while and enjoy some of the best that nature has to offer. Reconnecting with friends and family was the theme of this paddle, and everyone left feeling a little lighter, a little happier, and ready to begin their week.
