Our group met up at 5:30pm at the Oliver Boy Scout Landing Paddle for our Tuesday night's Community Paddle program. There were eleven of us who met briefly before hitting the water. It was a beautiful evening, we saw a blue heron on our way out of the bay, and passed plenty of people fishing off the dock.

We paddled for about an hour away from the dock, learning new techniques from one another and perfecting our skills. We had some new paddlers and some returners, but despite differences in experience levels, we had a great time. Some friendly folks greeted us on the shoreline, and soon after, we decided to head back to the cars.

We saw a bald eagle swooping over the tree line on the way back, plenty of fish were jumping, and the group pulled out the wet sponge for a game of sponge tag. There was lots of splashing, sponge swapping, and a few chases as the game got underway. We arrived at the landing, most of us effectively cooled down by the water in our boats. A few curious kids asked us questions as we pulled out the boats and loaded them up.
