Breakaway is a pre-orientation outdoor adventure experience for incoming first-year students. Students can choose between two different trips: Kayaking the Apostle Islands or Canoeing the Namekagon River. The Superior Adventures staff are experienced guides who will teach you all the necessary skills to safely enjoy all activities.
In other words, no experience is necessary! However, we recommend that all participants be in good physical condition. Staff will provide a fun and safe environment for incoming students to ask their questions about UWS.
Kayaking the Apostle Islands:
The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore provides some of the best kayaking! Join us as we kayak the Sea Caves and camp on the Islands. You will have the opportunity connect with fellow incoming students while being led by two experienced student guides who will be happy to answer all your questions about UWS!
Space is limited to first 5 people.
Namekagon River Canoe Trip:
The Namekagon River is one of Wisconsin's best canoeing rivers! Join us as we canoe and look for the abundance of wildlife that calls the river home: bald eagles, otters, beavers, and so much more!
You will have the opportunity connect with fellow incoming students, while being led by two experienced student guides; who will be happy to answer all your questions about UWS. We recommended that you are in good physical condition.
