Youth Climbing Teams

Campus Recreation's Superior Outdoor Adventure Program (SOAP) Indoor Youth Climbing Leagues provide area youth an opportunity to learn about rock climbing in a safe and fun environment. Each league is tailored to the needs the participant's to maximize learning and fun.

Program Details
Climbing Programs are custom tailored for climbers of all ability levels. Please enroll your child in the level that is most appropriate. If you have questions, please contact us and we can help you make a selection.    

Weekly topics include:

  • Climbing Safety 
  • Knots 
  • Belaying 
  • Route Climbing 
  • Climbing 
  • Practice         

All necessary gear will be provided. League climbers can use the Climbing Wall January 29 - March 12 on: Sundays from 4pm-7pm and Mondays from 6pm-9pm.  There will be no class on Sunday and Monday February 26 and 27 due to the WIAC Conference Track Meet.

Introductory League
No previous experience needed! 

Meets on Sundays January 29-March 15 from 2:00pm-4:00pm 

Cost: $65 with MWC Family Membership 
          $85 Community

Advanced League
Previous participant in climbing classes; some experience with climbing and knots required. 

Meets Mondays January 30-March 12 from 6:00pm-8:00pm 

Cost: $65 with MWC Family Membership  
          $85 Community 

Additional Information 
$10 discount on second child enrolled.
$15 discount on the third and each subsequent child from the same family.

All sessions are held at the Climbing Wall located in the Marcovich Wellness Center.

Our staff consists of knowledgeable and experienced climbers in the area. They are eager to show participants just how accessible and fun climbing can be. 

Our Climbing Wall staff will outfit participants with all the necessary gear, instruction, and encouragement they will need to be successful.   

All Climbing Wall staff are required to have the following certifications:

  • Belay
  • First Aid 
  • CPR/AED
