Undergraduate Graduation

graduationUndergraduate - Students expecting to graduate at the end of the term should apply for graduation no later than the date specified in the academic calendar.

Applications received after the deadline date might be held and the student will not be permitted to graduate until the following term. Students apply on-line through their E-hive account by clicking the Apply for Graduation link. The $50 graduation fee must be paid at the Cashier's Window, Main 208. This fee does not cover the cost of academic apparel for the commencement ceremony.

A senior will not be placed on the list of candidates for a degree if the student begins the last term in residence with a cumulative grade point average lower than the minimum required for graduation (2.00). The last 12 credits must be earned in residence (taken from UW-Superior).  All transfer credits to be applied toward the degree must be recorded and properly articulated on the student's transfer analysis report at the time the degree application is electronically submitted.

Degrees will not be posted for candidates enrolled in courses at other colleges.  Until an official transcript from the transfer institution is received by the Registrar's Office.  This must be done within 4 weeks post Commencement, or the student will have to re-apply for graduation for the subsequent term.  This does not include cross-registered courses at UMD, CSS.  All course work must be completed, and all grades that apply toward a degree must be received in the Registrar's Office within four (4) weeks after the end of a student's last term of attendance. If this deadline is not met, the student's name will be removed from the term's graduation list, and the student will be required to reapply for graduation. The Registrar's Office will not place a student's name on any future graduation lists unless a new degree application is received from the student. Students may move their graduation term forward one term without having to re-pay the $50 graduation fee IF the reason is due to lack of degree/major/minor requirements.
