Summer storage will be returning to residence hall students for 2014. Storage for all students will be in a Ross Hall basement storage room.
There are two types of storage. In the basement, students can reserve a storage spot, but it is limited to 6 bins that are NO LARGER THAN 40 GALLONS each. Bins are limited to 40 gallon size due to weight restrictions. Bins must be plastic storage containers with lids; no fabric, cardboard or other materials are able to be used.
The second type of storage is for items that cannot fit in a sealed plastic bin. This would include items such as defrosted fridges, electronics, empty suitcases, etc. The cost for this is $10/item and is done on a first come, first served basis.
Students can start placing their items into the summer storage location in Ross Hall on May 11th and all items must be in storage by May 19th (allowing for students who have late checkouts due to summer moves, etc). Items may be retrieved starting on August 9th and no later than September 2nd.
Should students need to access their items during the summer, they must pay a $25 access charge immediately and be able to show their receipt.
Upon payment for the storage spot, students will be issued up to 6 storage labels that they must put on the side of their bins with their name, storage box number (of total), and phone number they can be reached at during summer.
Students can immediately reserve a storage space by filling out the paper summer storage form, available at the Yellowjacket Union desk. Storage is $60/slot for the entire summer for basement storage, otherwise $10/item on 1st floor. Payment is due immediately upon reservation via cash, check, or credit card at the YU desk. Students will be asked to complete storage form which includes a hold harmless liability agreement. The student who reserves the space is the one who is liable for all items within the box.
