Sex Offender Registration Information:
The *"Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act" is a federal law enacted on October 28, 2000 that provides for the tracking of convicted sex offenders enrolled at or employed by institutions of higher education.
The Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC) has supplied the UW-Superior Campus Safety Department with the following name(s) as being on the registry as of 08/26/2008:

Wisconsin's Sex Offender Registry is maintained by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registration Program, commonly referred to as SORP.
All information included in the Registry is available to law enforcement agencies. In addition, victims, neighborhood watch groups and general public have access to certain information.
Under Wisconsin Statute 301.45 a registrant must report to the Department of Corrections his/her residence, employment, school enrollment, vehicle use or change of name status while under supervision of the Department of Corrections, and for 15 years from discharge, or for life in certain cases. The registrant must report any changes in residence, employment, school, vehicle or name within 10 days of the effective change. Registrants are subject to periodic, random verification checks conducted by the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program.

*Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act, enacted in October 2000, takes effect as of October 28, 2003. As per University of Wisconsin System - Office of General Counsel, the Wisconsin sex offender registration program will be collecting and making publicly available information about a sex offender's enrollment or employment with institutions of the University of Wisconsin System. Information pertaining to our campus will be available in our office during regular business hours.
*H.R.3244 Title VI: Miscellaneous - Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act - Amends the Jacob Wetterling Crimes Against Children and Sexually Violent Offender Registration Act to require any person who is required to register in a State to provide notice of each: (1) institution of higher education in that State at which the person is employed, carries on a vocation, or is a student; and (2) change of enrollment or employment status of such person at such an institution.
Requires that State procedures ensure that the registration information collected is: (1) promptly made available to a law enforcement agency having jurisdiction where such institution is located; and(2) entered into the appropriate State records or data system.
Amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 to require that institutions currently required to disclose campus security policy and campus crime statistics data also advise the campus community where law enforcement agency information provided by a State concerning registered sex offenders may be obtained.
Amends the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 to specify that such Act may not be construed to prohibit an educational institution from disclosing information provided to the institution under the Wetterling Act concerning registered sex offenders who are required to register.
The Wetterling Act. The Wetterling Act requires sex offenders to notify the State of Wisconsin "of each institution of higher education in that State at which the person is employed, carries on a vocation, or is a student; and of each change in enrollment or employment status of such person at an institution of higher education in that State." 42 U.S.C. s. 14071(7)(j)(1). Upon receipt of this information, the State "shall ensure that the registration information collected under paragraph (1) is promptly made available to a law enforcement agency having jurisdiction where such institution is located; and entered into the appropriate State records or data system." 42 U.S.C. s. 14071(7)(j)(2).
