Time to Take 5 October

It's nearly impossible to eat too many fruits and vegetables. But aiming for at least five servings a day is great for your health. Why? They are:

Super sources of fiber, which makes you feel full, keeps your digestive track healthy, and helps lower cholesterol.

Full of essential vitamins and minerals. Their colors indicate rich nutritional value.

A serving is:

1 med fruit

1/2 cup of small or cut-up fruit

3/4 cup of 100% fruit juice

1/4 cup dried fruit

1/2 cup raw or cooked vegetables

1 cup, raw leafy vegetables

1/2 cup cooked beans or peas

Sneak some more in:

Have a fruit and veggie smoothie.

Pile veggies on a sandwich.

Bake and apple in the microwave.

Top of frozen yogurt with fresh fruit.

Add veggies to your pasta.
