Strategic Plan

Program Prioritization

The world of higher education is changing. Increased competition, budget shortages and pressure from government to prove measurable results are just a few of the changes UW-Superior and other institutions are facing. Self-examination of our programs is essential to UW-Superior's overall health. Self-study, in conjunction with our strategic planning process, offers each program the opportunity to provide input into important strategic decisions and to strengthen the institution. The Strategic Planning Steering Committee (SPSC) is following a process that has been used extensively by institutions of higher education across the nation. Robert Dickeson's book, "Prioritizing Academic Programs and Services" forms the basis for our work. Academic, non-academic, and administrative programs will be examined. The prioritization process will identify budget, program, and personnel opportunities and barriers. Of utmost concern is the care and respect of our students and our employees as we move forward with this challenging process. Through this process, our campus community will help position UW-Superior for future success.
