Services for Homeless Students

This handbook is intended as a guide for UWS students who either are currently or are at risk of experiencing homelessness.  It is also intended as a guide for UWS staff who may not be aware of what resources UW-Superior has to offer in this regard.  It is asked that all relevant offices keep a copy of this book on hand at all times.

If you are a student who is currently without a safe place to live or are in danger of losing your housing, please contact the Student Support Services office immediately.

We are here to assist all UW-Superior students and will help confidentially coordinate the resources you need.

The suggestions listed in this book are only a starting point.  If you have any questions about these or other services, or know of other resources that should be listed or corrected in subsequent editions of this handbook please contact TRiO Student Support Services in 1024 Swenson Hall, or by phone at (715) 394-8185.

The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to postbaccalaureate programs. TRIO also includes a training program for directors and staff of TRIO projects.
