Learn@UWSuperior Content Viewer Issues

Posted on Jan 21, 2014

Learn@ UWSuperior is having some difficulties right now viewing Word and PDF documents in the Content area. Learn@ UW-Utility and Desire2Learn are working on this issue to get it resolved as soon as possible. We're seeing two different problems with the Content document viewer. The person clicks on the Word or PDF document, they go to the viewer screen and it has the "Loading…" message that doesn't do anything, but they can use the download button in the lower right corner of the viewer and save it to their computer.

The second thing that's happening is if a person clicks on a PDF (we haven't seen this yet with Word documents), they go to the viewer screen and see a red "X" in the upper left corner, if they click on the download icon in the lower right corner of the viewer it gives them an error message. A workaround for this issue has been created, instead of clicking the download button in the lower right corner, click on the green download arrow button under the viewer screen. This will allow them to open or download the file to their computer to view.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this causes you.
