You can add horizontal lines in a Word 2007 document easily without having to use the ribbon on the top of the page. You don't even need your mouse - try the examples below to see how easy it is.
1. If you want to add a simple straight line, type three dashes (---) and press Enter on the keyboard.
2. For a dotted horizontal line, type three asterisks (***) and press Enter.
3. Type three underscores ( ___ ) and press Enter to get a bold line.
4. Type three equal signs (===) and hit Enter to get a double line.
5. Three pound signs ( ### ) and press Enter to get a triple line with the center line bold.
6. Type in three tildes ( ~~~ ) and hitting Enter to get zig-zag line.
