Air Force ROTC and Angel Flight Reunion
Reunion Weekend
Sept. 27-30, 2007

 

Alumni who participated in Air Force ROTC and Angel Flight from their earliest days on campus to the present were on hand for an all-class reunion that included a social, dinner and program. Here are some photos from that event:

Enjoying some of the scrapbooks in the ROTC Command Center were Bill Moravek, Class of '69; Vernette Nubson Moravek, Class of '69; Rich Khalar, Class of '69; Tom Scharenbrock, Class of '69; and Barbara Schorenbrock.


Checking in at Friday evening's Opening Social were Marguerite and Karl Moravek, Class of '50 and former UW-Superior alumni director.

 



Chatting in the Command Center on Friday evening were Karl Moravek, Class of '50, and Richard Moline, Class of '66, and a fellow alumnus of ROTC.

 



Stopping by to see old friends at the Opening Social was Richard Pittroff, ROTC instructor from 1968 to 1971, and his wife Lucy, shown here enjoying a laugh with Vernette Nubson Moravek, Class of '69.

On Sept. 29, 2007, Air Force ROTC Det. 420 held its traditional Dining Out in the Rothwell Student Center Ballroom. Here, Cadet Ryan Le Bard, a UW-Superior student, plays the bagpipes to announce dinner.
 

The RSC Ballroom was filled with tables of cadets, their dates and parents, and alumni.

 Lt. Col. Gary Shefchik (ret.) and his cousin Brig. Gen. Sandra Gregory (ret.) display the presentation case that was given to the newly retired Lt. Col. Shefchik.Along with his service awards was a folded United States flag that had been flown in Washington, D.C., and over the UW-Superior campus.

 

Gen. McDonald's closing remarks included praise for Chancellor Erlenbach and the university for the good work they're doing with students.

 

Keynote speaker for the evening was Brig. Gen. (ret.) Gregory Pavlovich, Class of '74.

 

 




The Dining Out program ended with a surprise: The entire group singing "Happy Birthday" to General McDonald.
