What is a comprehensive campaign?

A comprehensive campaign is a long-term fund-raising effort that combines annual giving with gifts aimed at meeting specific capital endowment goals. By definition, a campaign is ambitious, so our goals are ambitious.

At a deeper level, a campaign sets a new standard for the University. It establishes higher expectations among some of the most important people in our world -- our current and future students, our alumni, the employers who hire our graduates, our friends, our faculty and staff, and people of the Twin Ports and the State of Wisconsin.

That's why we included "higher expectations" in the name of our campaign. When students come to UW-Superior from high school, community colleges, the military, other universities or from their current jobs, they find that we expect them to meet higher expectations in academic achievement and personal commitment. To do that, the University must also set higher expectations for itself by providing the faculty, programs and facilities that our students need to succeed.

We dare to have higher expectations because of our belief in UW-Superior's mission and vision, and because of the depth of our commitment to our University. This campaign is about taking that first step; about setting higher expectations - first, of ourselves - and then asking you to join us in the journey to make this all a reality.
