Why Your Gifts Are Needed

Maintaining the aspects that make UW-Superior special - small classes, access to people and resources, and personal service - is not inexpensive. Consider some of the financial challenges facing the University:

  • Decades ago, the University relied primarily on state support. Today, state support accounts for only 33 percent of UW-Superior's annual budget. As state support declines, budgets must be cut while tuition and student fees continue to rise. Financial support from alumni and friends is essential to maintaining and expanding excellence.

  • Learning technology - everything from computers to science lab equipment - is constantly rising in cost and must be frequently upgraded.

  • Providing the latest books, journals and access to online publications for Jim Dan Hill Library is another rising cost, as are utilities and student needs such as financial aid.

  • Campus buildings must be upgraded, and a new one is needed - projects that today can only be completed with a sizeable financial contribution from the campus.

UW-Superior offers a challenging, valuable education to people of all ages and all walks of life. Your gifts are the key to ensuring that the university can maintain excellence and remain accessible to students.
