Coordinator of Student Health Services

 

Hayes Hill Title:             Student Services Program Manager II

 

Position Summary:  Provides general administrative oversight of Student Health and Counseling Services; provides health care expertise; and serves as a health care consultant for campus and in consultation with the community.  Duties include developing and implementing appropriate policies, procedures, and programs to provide high quality health services to students and the university.  This position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Campus Life and Dean of Students.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø       Provide program planning and development for Student Health and Counseling Services.

Ø       Initiate, negotiate, and manage multiple health and mental health service contracts.

Ø       Provide fiscal/budget management for multiple accounts.

Ø       Manage recruiting, training, supervising, evaluating, and professional development of staff.

Ø       Provide health care expertise and serve as a resource and consultant.

Ø       Conduct and oversee population needs assessment and evaluation of service programs.

Ø       Advocate for campus health policies.

Ø       Serve as campus coordinator for AODA educational efforts and concerns.

Ø       Oversee marketing and promotion of services to include UW System Health Insurance program.

Ø       Seek, write, and provide oversight for grants.

Ø       Build collaborative, cooperative relationships with the campus and community on a variety of related issues.

Ø       Organize, lead, or serve on campus and community task forces, coalitions, committees, and consortia.

Ø       Provide and oversee educational programming and events.

 

Requirements of Work:

Ø       Knowledge of physical and mental health and wellness concepts, principles, and practices.

Ø       Ability to design and implement health and counseling services.

Ø       Working knowledge of academic support services and trends within the university environment.

Ø       Demonstrated skill in fiscal and administrative management.

Ø       Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information and records.

Ø       Ability to effectively prepare and provide oversight of grant proposals.

Ø       Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, faculty, and staff.

Ø       Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, administrators, students, and other personnel.

 

Qualifications:

Ø       Master’s degree in health care services, public health or one of the mental health professions (Psychology, Social Work or Counseling).

Ø       Four years full-time experience in providing physical or mental health care services or health and wellness education program development.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

Ø       Specific professional experience in higher education.
