Position
Summary
The Project
Coordinator, under the direction of the Early Adopters Project Steering
Committee, will:
- establish
and maintain the project office,
- provide
fundamental staff support and overall project coordination, and
- provide
direction and logistical support for all aspects of the project including
committee meetings, training events, public outreach, reporting, and
documentation.
Duties
and Responsibilities
Project
Management
- Establish
and maintain office and coordinate all aspects of the project
- Provide
day-to-day management for all aspects of the Early Adopters project
- Work with
the fiscal sponsor to ensure that all contract documents and obligations
associated with the project are handled according to fiscal sponsor’s
standards
- Assist in
creating and implementing an Early Adopters marketing campaign
- Develop/maintain
a detailed project budget and prepare related budget documents
- Act as a
contact and resource for external organizations and parties interested in
sustainability
- Prepare
necessary reports on progress, issues, and financial matters
Communications,
Coordination and Implementation
- Create
presentations and supporting written and web materials to promote the
Early Adopters project and broader community understanding of the Natural
Step framework and sustainable practices
- Plan,
prepare, and host informational and training events
- Work
closely and effectively with Early Adopters organizations to coordinate
their participation in all stages of the project
- Provide
support and advice to participants as they develop and implement action
plans and sustainability strategies
- Track and
document the action planning and implementation processes of Early Adopter
organizations
- Direct
and manage student interns and community volunteers, including setting
priorities and assigning responsibilities
Minimum
Qualifications
- Demonstrated
passion for environmental and economic sustainability
- Bachelors
Degree related to management, finance, sustainability or
environment-related field
- Strong
oral, written, and electronic communication skills
- Strong
computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability
to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Background
in The Natural Step framework or willingness to quickly develop such
skills and capacity
