Selected to Host Local Qualifier for the
National Collegiate Golf Championship

The University of Wisconsin (Superior) will be one of 35 local qualifying host schools for the 4th Annual National Collegiate Golf Championship in the fall of 2005. A two-person scramble event for collegiate and university amateurs, the NCGC will allow golfers to compete for their university to see who will be the 2005 National Champion. The Tournament has two divisions: Student and Non-student (or Open Division). All levels of golfers are encouraged to participate.
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Local Qualifier will be held on September 24, 2005 at Nemadji Golf Course. The event begins at 12:00 pm. The entry fee is $30 per person or $60 per team for this two-person scramble. The greens fees are included in your entry fee.

Everyone is welcome to participate including students attending other colleges. The winning teams will be invited to play in the National Collegiate Golf Championship in Las Vegas, NV, November 11th - 13th 2005.
In addition, we will be hosting a campus golf expo near Ole Haugsraud field on Wednesday, September 14th, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

This amateur golf event is focused on university recreational golfers and will consist of 35 local qualifying tournaments held across the United States in the fall. Local qualifying winners will advance to the official National Collegiate Golf Championship in Las Vegas, November 11-13, 2005. Portions of proceeds of the Local Qualifiers and the Championship will benefit the NIRSA Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that provides opportunities for students through professional development, research, scholarships, and educational resources.
The NCGC brings together students, faculty and alumni to compete for their university and against other colleges and universities.
Penn State golfers Kyle Tyson and Drew Guaraldo shot an eight under, 64, to win the 2004 National Collegiate Golf Championship (NCGC) at Badlands Golf Course. (Related article) They are already looking forward to defending their championship for the Nittany Lions. “The tournament was well-run and well-organized.” Tyson said while holding back a smile. Everything went smooth and I couldn't have had a better time…I can't wait for next year.
