Email and Active Directory Support ( 20 % )
Check Administrator Mail

Check mail servers daily to ensure smooth operation

Troubleshoot email flow/delivery, client-server problems

Run routine maintenance programs to maintain the integrity of the email system

Create & maintain groups and distribution lists on the email system

Manage active directory group policies, user accounts/LDAP

Check mail queues, purge undeliverable messages

Monitor Public Folder and mailbox storage

Manage Public Folders, creating, deleting and assigning perissions as necessary

Check antivrus quarentined items and spam delivery

Schedule and run database defragmentation and integrity checks

Manage Active Directory Organizational Units/permissions

Network Applications ( 1 % )
Perform backups, security procedures, monitoring and systems maintenance for the RecTrack system.

Support of Proxy Servers

Setup MRTG to monitor new devices as directed by network infrastructure administrators and periodically update graphs

Provide technical support for campus e-mail digest, including upgrades and troubleshooting.

Support the campus WIKI system

Support the campus PHP Survey system

Network Security ( 30 % )
Continuous development of campus network security and disaster recovery policies.

Host vulnerability analysis eg Nessus scans

Server Administration ( 45 % )
The installation and configuration of servers in a consistent fashion including Windows & Linux. Keeping servers patch current and secure.

DHCP,WINS,DNS design and administration. As necessary, add reservations, addresses, and leases.

Microsoft SMS

Manage IP and non-IP based KVM systems

Specify, design and purchase Servers and service contracts. Server consolidation as required by MS Contract.

Evaluate new server technologies: SAN, virtual servers, Citrix

Managing server performance and reconfiguring as required for acceptable performance and minimal downtime.

Create, manage and monitor network backup system. Backing up servers.

Setup and configure of Web Servers. Audit Web Severs

User Services ( 4 % )
Assist individual users with software installation and usage.

Assist users with hardware problems.
