Welcome to the Writing Center!  Our Center--located in Swenson 1030-- provides free assistance to any and all UW-Superior students with the writing they do for their classes, no matter the discipline.  Students can find help with all stages of the writing process from our peer consultants.  Both face-to-face and online consultations are available.

*Evening and weekend services begin the second week of the semester.
A Few Rules to Follow in Making and Keeping Appointments: 1. Length of appointment: So that the writing center can accommodate all clients who wish to have consultations, please make only one 30-minute appointment at a time. Hour-long appointments should not be made except under the following circumstances: the consultation will concern a very long draft (more than 5 pages), the consultation will be conducted online rather than in-person, or you are a second language learner. Under any of these three circumstances, hour appointments are recommended. 2. If you are late for an appointment and we have someone arrive at the center at that time who wants a walk-in consultation, we will consider you a no-show and accommodate the walk-in client. 3. Please note also that a consultation (whether in-person or online) should concern just one writing assignment.  4. Be sure to cancel an appointment you won't be able to keep.  Otherwise you will be deemed a "no-show."  After three no-shows in a semester, you will lose appointment-making privileges for the rest of the semester, meaning that you can be seen only as a walk-in client.
